On August 4th the first annual "Art in the Garden" will take place. One of the artist scheduled to exhibit is Katie George.  Her nature inspired paintings and carvings are displayed now in our gift shop special section for participating artists.  Here is more about Katie and her work.

Katie George is a Minnesota native, retired, living on Blueberry Lake located on the South end of the Chippewa Flowage by Radisson, WI.  She is a woodcarver who does bark carvings of faces and whimsical houses.  She is watercolorist known for her paintings of bears and northwoods  scenes.
“I feel compelled to respond to the beauty that surrounds me in Northern Wisconsin, thus most of my paintings are of what I see in flora and fauna.  I like watercolor as a medium because it has an ethereal nature.  My carvings and paintings allow my whimsical nature to prevail.”

Her art can be found at the Robin’s Nest, Gallery &Gifts, Hayward; My Villa, Cable; Dancing Bird, Cumberland and many places on the North shore of Minnesota.  The national card company, It Takes Two, also utilizes her art.
