Shade Combination August/September

Sun Combination August/September

Perennial Combination for Sun and Shade:

Your garden can provide plenty of color throughout the summer months. Color your garden by designing with perennial plants for sun and shade with a bloom time between August and September. There is always something to look forward to or dream about in a garden. Simply looking deep into the perfect flower makes us hopeful and optimistic.  Gardens are a hobby that can grow old with us while producing touchable, beautiful natural accolades to enjoy and feed the body, mind and soul.  Gardening is one of the few activities that engages all of these.  Color, fragrance and sound have a considerable impact on our senses and mood.  Foliage and flowers in warm colors energize while cool colors calm.  Fragrance lifts the spirit and the sounds of birds singing and grasses rustling in the wind create a calming symphony. Some of the benefits of gardening include reducing everyday stress, provides physical activity, and creativity which builds confidence.  Gardening can boost immune system function and increase levels of vitamin D.  So..... Get out, get dirty and get gardening!

Vegetable Harvest

From Your Garden To Another Table

On Sunday, September 2nd the Fall Flavours Event will take place.  In preparation for this event, we invite all garden growers to participate in celebrating the abundance of the harvest season. If your garden vegetable and/or fruit harvest yields more than you anticipated, we invite you to bring it with you on Sunday the 2nd to share it with your fellow gardeners.  Also, be on the watch for any fun shapes or large sizes of fruit or veggies produced from your garden.  There will be a specific area for sharing and displaying the garden harvest. Any surplus of garden bounty harvest will then be donated to our local Winter Food Pantry.
