Plants have a powerful effect on people. We love their colors, their scents and the way they feel, the way they move in the wind, their fruits and flowers and the birds and insects they attract. Taking care of them is healthy, relaxing, and enjoyable, and it can also be rewarding.
Landscaping is one of the few improvements that adds more value to a property than it costs to install. It can add between 7 and 15 percent to a home's value, and a mature tree can often have an appraised value of between $1000 and $10,000.
Landscaping can also provide practical low-cost solutions to a number of site problems. Plants can control dust, prevent soil erosion, block the wind, provide shade, save energy, minimize sound and increase privacy. It can also increase the 'usability' of your yard, and provides an opportunity to set your home apart as you view it from the outside.

How to get started?
The planning process for a larger project begins with gathering as much information as possible about the site and about your particular needs and wishes. It is helpful to fill out a questionnaire and draw in your measurements on a site plan before the meeting. These can be printed out here, picked up at the Greenhouse, or we will be happy to mail a copy to you.
We then arrange an on-site visit with you to look over the areas you would like us to work on. Several factors are taken into consideration during the consultations. We will review the site requirements, decide whether soil samples are required, discuss the possibility of moving or dividing existing plants, and discuss other ideas and plans you may have for your landscape. We take photos and measurements, then make computer-aided drawings and images to fit the situation. Most people are excited about the before and after images of their sites as it helps greatly to be able to visualize the final results. Finally we arrange a consultation at the greenhouse to go over the proposed plan and images, as well as present the quotes for the plants, materials, and installation if that is wanted.
What does it cost?
There are three basic levels of assistance to choose from:
Greenhouse Consultation ~ $99
You bring in measurements and images and we work on it without an on-site visit. This design option is
for a small to medium size area. For instance - one side of your house.
On-Site - Medium Area ~ $189
We will come to your house and take the measurements and images we need. This design option is for a
small to medium size area. For instance - one side of your house.
On-Site - Master Plan ~ $349
We will come to your house and take the measurements and the images we need. This design option is for
all 4 sides of your house or an equivalent of 4 photo shots.
Quick Sketch ~ We are also happy to help you at the Greenhouse free of charge with designing a smaller area. Appointments are not required, but may save you some inconvenience if we are occupied when you visit. You will walk away with a hand drawn quick sketch of the area in question, along with a list of the plants, soil amendments etc., that you will need.
Landscape Service ~ We charge $40 an hour for any landscape installation, pruning, feeding, irrigation, or any other plant care required. The charge includes travel time, but no additional mileage fee. We will follow up each job with a visit later in the year, or the following spring, to make sure you are completely satisfied with the project.
Please Note ~ Design prices could vary according to the extent of the areas we are dealing with. We charge an additional travel charge of $1.50 per mile (one way).
Maintenance ~ Our services can also include spring and fall clean-up, fertilizing, adding soil amendments, mulching, pruning, and more.
Our Guarantee ~ All trees & shrubs have a 100% replacement guarantee for one year from the date of installation. Annuals and Perennials are guaranteed through one growing season. We will give you complete plant care instructions after installation.
