Deadhead spent blooms from this plant by shearing it. This keeps the plant tidy and may possibly encourage another minor flush of blooms later in the season. Once the season draws to a close, shear this plant again to shape it and get it ready for winter. Fertilize before and after bloom time, and consider adding some compost to its soil to provide additional nutrients. Once established, this is a drought-tolerant plant with fairly low feeding needs.

Creeping Phlox provides a mat of color when its blooms appear in mid-spring through early summer. Covering ground, spilling over rock walls, defining a border... this plant can do it. With a low-growing habit and plenty of flower power in blue (blue-lavender tones), it is the perfect addition to a space that needs a colorful base. Pollinators love this plant. Gardeners do too.
