This very rare plant will either climb with the help of tendrils or drape beautifully from a hanging container. Strong stems are decorated with multitudes of leaves that start out solid burgundy and then turn dark green with silvery white markings as they mature. The leaves have a slight iridescence, causing them to sparkle as they reflect the light. This is enhanced by their nice texture. Mature leaf-tops retain the gorgeous burgundy color in a strong central vein, other veining, and along the margins. Leaf undersides remain burgundy. One of the plant's common names, Tapestry Vine, pays tribute to this multicolored foliage.
