This plant prefers moist to well-drained soil. While it can tolerate some dryness, you will want to water it frequently.
Give this plant a period of rest without fertilizer. Then apply a diluted liquid fertilizer to promote blooming. When grown as a houseplant, be sure to provide this plant lots of bright light, but not direct light. Outside, it can be used in borders, beds, edgings, or ground cover. It also works as a houseplant, container plant, or hanging basket. If you do decide to grow this plant in a container, consider overwintering the plant indoors. When using it in the miniature or fairy garden, you should find that it will not need much shearing.
