This Sedge has foliage that is as thin as blades of grass. New growth emerges from the center of the plant and cascades down, forming a rounded mound. But it is the leaf tips, each with a tiny terminal flower of silvery white, that give this plant its fiber optic feel. Fiber Optic Grass likes lots of moisture and can even be used as a water garden plant, provided it is given time to acclimate to its environment. But on dry land, it is just as intriguing when used to cascade out of containers with mixed plantings, or on its own as a perfectly rounded mound. Flowering at all times in the year, it maintains its look of thin fiber optic cables. This is no basic clump of grass!
