This lovely plant has tubular flowers that dangle like jewels on a necklace as the plant's compact stems grow upright and then bend a bit, curving gently as they get taller. Its foliage stays healthy looking all season, right into autumn, with leaves going up the stem two-by-two in a ladder-like formation. This dwarf Solomon's Seal takes up far less space than its larger counterpart. Try it in a medium-height border, in the shaded area created by decking or an overhang on your home... it works well almost anywhere there is shade with just a bit of dappled sun to dance off the leaves. Growing by way of rhizomes, it takes hold, does well with little care, and (politely) spreads. It is a lovely, old-fashioned plant for the shade garden, as well as for some slightly brighter spots in the yard.
