This plant has a number of common names, including Angel's Tears and Peace in the Home. It prefers shade and moderate moisture and can even grow in swampy environments. Its ultra-miniscule creamy white star-flowers of May and June are insignificant, but the rich green color of the tiny round leaves provides a garden with an impression of a soft and fine moss growing in moist shady areas. Although it can be evergreen in areas with scarcely any winter, it is also frost-tender, so in the Pacific Northwest it dies back in winter but returns reliably in spring.
This plant features in Leslie Halleck's video Tiny Plants: Miniature Gardening Unboxing.
