This plant grows well in evenly moist, well-drained soil in which water is applied directly to the soil beneath the leaves. Do not allow the soil to dry out. This Hosta prefers part-shade to full shade. Protect it from wind, and plant it in soil that is not too heavy. It will not grow well in clay or heavy soils.

Blue Mouse Ears sets exquisite soft blue-green leaves, gently curled, with the substantial texture you'd expect from much more mature specimens. A tightly mounded miniature, it keeps its distinctive color throughout the summer heat. The leaves curl into a unique "mouse ear" shape. In the summertime, expect bell-shaped lavender flowers. This plant is a favorite in shade gardens.
