Veronica oltensis is a low-growing speedwell that works hard to fill in cracks, form small carpets, or add detail between other plants. A hardy plant, Veronica oltensis is native to Turkey. It has a slow-growing nature, but will form a mat up to 24" wide and less than an inch tall. Some say it resembles Thyme, especially with its small, dark green leaves. However, this plant has purple-blue flowers that are plentiful and bright. If you are looking for a small-but-mighty ground cover plant that is drought resistant, bee friendly, butterfly friendly, and semi-evergreen, you don’t need to look beyond Veronica oltensis.
