This plant prefers moist to well-drained soil. While it can tolerate some dryness, you will want to water it frequently.
Plant in sun to partial shade. (Brighter is better for this cultivar.) Ensure moderate moisture, but brief periods with dry soil are fine. This cultivar likes well-draining soil. In spring, remove any small shoots that grow near the trunk. You can easily keep this plant pruned to maintain its height and shape. It will tolerate dryness, and when restricting the root system, it makes an excellent choice for a bonsai tree.
